I will be sending home a newsletter each week.  I want to keep you informed on what is going on in the classroom.

It would be helpful if you could let me know if your child rides the bus, goes to afterschool daycare, or will be picked up after school.  The first few weeks can be a little hectic in this area and I want to get the children where they belong.

When the children start taking hot lunch this week I will ask them each morning if they are HOT or COLD lunch and if they need milk with their cold lunch.  You might want to review and remind them it is not so confusing for them or me.

September Fest is coming up soon. The Kindergarten class will be putting together a “Sports Basket”.  If you could donate something for this basket it would be appreciated.  It could be anything to do with sports. (balls, bats, jump ropes etc.). The items are due by Sept.5th.

A yellow folder will be coming home each Friday with information from the Kindergarten room. Please return each Monday after taking the information out.  There is a homework assignment in it this week.  Have fun completing the coconut tree!  It is due by August 29.

Please fill out the information card that is coming home.  I keep this in the room for easy access to your numbers.

The first book we read was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.  We have done a lot of fun activities with this book.  We worked on letters in our names, tasted a coconut, and did some art projects.

We are off to a great start.  I will be doing some individual assessments on the children next week during center time.  If you ever have any questions please let me know.  I am always willing to listen.
